A conversation on the implementation and benefits of Senate Bill (SB) 48
The Fair, Accurate, Inclusive, and Respectful (FAIR) Education Act (SB 48), signed into law by Governor Brown in 2011, requires public schools to teach LGBT history. While the act went into effect January 1, 2012, it’s still not implemented.

Bullying and discrimination issues are current and growing problems in our public schools. Solutions to mitigate these issues could develop as more students have access to factual information about social movements, current events and history of LGBT people.

Featuring:

  • Stuart Milk, nephew of Harvey Milk
  • Assembly Speaker John A. Perez
